BOCA RATON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Small business owners, get ready to think big!
“Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot”
Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), celebrating 25 years as a leading global provider of office supplies and services, is teaming up with 3M® and NASCAR® stars Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet, and Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford, to offer the exciting possibility of a $1 million payday for one small business owner through the “Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot” sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes runs from now through May 28 and small business owners can enter online and – new this year – via their SmartPhone at OfficeDepotRacing.com. Two small business owners will be randomly selected as finalists, earning them a $10,000 small business makeover from Office Depot* and a VIP race weekend experience for two – not to mention a chance at the $1 million prize! Plus, as an extra reward to small business owners who participate, Office Depot is giving away one $1,000 Office Depot gift card every day during the sweepstakes entry period.
“I’m very excited to be part of the ‘Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot’ sweepstakes again this year, and to provide an opportunity for hard-working small business owners across the country to win big,” said Stewart, who is a successful entrepreneur with 13 small businesses of his own. “I know first-hand how much hard work, dedication and focus it takes to build a successful business, and I have tremendous respect for small business owners in every field. I hope many of them will take advantage of this great opportunity and enter the ‘Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot’ sweepstakes today. Greg (Biffle) and I really want to deliver the $1 million prize this year – we’re ready to take care of business!”
How It Works
Two eligible small business owners will be randomly selected as finalists in the sweepstakes, with Stewart and Biffle taking to the racetrack to determine their fate during the nationally televised NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™, Labor Day Classic 500 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway (Sunday, Sept. 4, 7:30 p.m. EDT, ESPN).
Stewart will display the name or logo of one small business finalist on his No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet during the Labor Day weekend race, while Biffle will feature the name or logo of a second small business finalist on his No. 16 3M Ford. The small business that appears on the highest-finishing driver’s car will be named the “Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot.” And if Stewart or Biffle wins the race, the small business featured on the winning car will take home $1 million!
“Tony (Stewart) and I were really disappointed that we weren’t able to deliver the $1 million prize last year, so we’re very excited to have another chance in 2011,” Biffle said. “I’m proud to partner with Office Depot and 3M on the ‘Official Small Business of NASCAR, Courtesy of Office Depot’ sweepstakes again because, like Tony, I’m a small business owner, and I have a true appreciation for what it takes to build a successful business. It would be pretty incredible to celebrate winning at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time in my Sprint Cup Series career by presenting the $1 million check to one lucky small business owner in Victory Lane.”
Stewart is the defending winner of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race on Labor Day Weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway and has three career wins while competing in NASCAR’s top series at the 1.54-mile track. Biffle is still searching for his first win at Atlanta, but has notched three top-five and nine top-10 finishes in 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ starts there.
Generating Support: Votes Can Help
Small business owners hoping to gain an edge on the competition can ask their friends and family to vote for them during the entry window. Each valid vote a small business receives provides an additional entry for that small business in the sweepstakes. Small business owners will have the ability to create a business profile page, complete with an image and business profile, once entered in the sweepstakes. They will then be able to invite family and friends to visit their unique page and vote for them there.
Sneak Peek: Your Small Business Logo Could Appear Here
During the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ Showtime Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway (Saturday, May 7, 7:30 p.m. EDT, FOX), Stewart will feature a special rear panel on his No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet promoting the sweepstakes and giving small business owners a sneak peek at where their company’s logo could appear on his car in September.
Biffle will run a special panel generating awareness for the sweepstakes on his No. 16 3M Ford during the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race at Dover International Speedway (Sunday, May 15, 1 p.m. EDT, FOX).
